Day 184

Bus

Bus

My son is obsessed with buses at one and a half years old. Although I think there were a couple in this shot, at almost half a minute exposure, he is going to be disappointed.

Day 183

Patrick Swayze's Ghost

Patrick Swayze's Ghost

I have been meaning to get up early to take photos for some time, but cold weather, lack of sleep, and other excuses put me off. I finally got round to it and was lucky to chat to Flo in the middle of town at 7 in the morning. Even though it was morning for me, it was technically still night for him and his companions who were still drinking. They graciously offered me some of their jaegermeister but I had to decline as I was off to work. There's something about him that definitely says Sam is still around.

Day 181

Cats eyes

Cats eyes

I was asked to take photos of Shizuka's ceramic art works yesterday and was fortunate to get her to pose with one. Shizuka is an artist from Japan working in Frankfurt with an amazing imagination and vision for creating art that you wouldn't particularly expect from such a quiet modest person.

Day 176

Looking forward to a new start!

Looking forward to a new start!

Still off work but hoping for the best next week. And hoping for the best for my Mamiya 645 gear, which after much deliberation, I have decided to sell on eBay. I'm still keeping my lenses for now and my RZ67 for special occasions.

Day 175

Ume

Ume

I twisted my back the other day and have been completely out of action for almost a week now. The first few days I could barely crawl around to get to the bathroom but I'm slowly getting back on my feet and getting tired of starting at the ceiling.

I had been waiting for these flowers to blossom in a vase at home for ages and almost forgot to get a photo of them before they had withered. Luckily having a tripod meant I didn't have to hold the camera for long to get a nice photo.

Day 174

Cassava with mango sauce

Cassava with mango sauce

It's been a while since my last post. Funny how the Christmas season and its aftermath rob you of your time and energy. I might be a bit late but a traumatic event made me decide to make a proper resolution to get back into listing more photos and updating my website.

I bought a load of banana leaves for this thinking I could just origami them like pictures you can find on the internet. Apparently there's a knack to it as I ripped them every single time!!

My friend who is an amazing chef and made the Cassava told me (after I had thrown all the leaves away in shame) - one secret trick is to iron the leaves before you need to use them!

Well, here's to more photos and learning in 2016!
